CNS6 Television Station and its Managing Director, Mr C N Sharma have been at the forefront in the fight for the rigths and justice of the poor and under-privileged in Guyana. He is known throughout the lenght and breath of Guyana, and his popularity is steadily rising in other Caricom countries. Mr Sharma's style in journalism is indeed very unique. He does not just give an objective report on whatever subject or news item that is brought to his attention, but he goes all the way out in offering the parties to say exactly what are the problems they face or how they are affected. This is rare in the industry, especially where the cost of broadcasting is steady rising. Mr Sharma also faces numerous other hurdles in Guyana. There have been several attempts by the Government of Guyana over the recent past to silence him. His television station was forced off the air and his request to increase the range of his broadcast is not being entertained by the Guyana Government. To some Mr Sharma is seen as man with inadequate qualification to speak on subjects that he is know to comment on, not forgetting that one of the greatest president of the United States of America, Abraham Lincoln, was a man that was poorly educated. It is often said of Mr Sharma, that it does not matter who you are or where you come from, if you go to him with your problems, he will always give you an audience and try his best to help you. |
